Empire Distributing is looking for a driven IT support technician to assist with ongoing IT projects and service internal staff with technological related issues. IT support technician responsibilities include managing help desk tickets, documenting staff interactions, and handling any technological related issues that may arise on the day-to-day basis.
To be successful as an Empire Distributing IT Support Technician you should be technologically inclined, capable of diagnosing and resolving computer related issues; as well as a team player who works well with others and is flexible working in a family-owned environment.
IT Support Responsibilities
● Manage Help Desk tickets in a timely manner
● Respond to internal staff issues via phone, email, computer chat, and in person
● Provide staff assistance
● Document staff interactions
● Run diagnostics to resolve staff reported issues
● Escalate issues to the next tier with next level of difficulty
● Follow-up with staff to ensure issues are resolved
● Install, make changes and repair computer hardware and software
● Keep computer systems up-to-date with both windows and manufacturer updates
● Add / remove products from online ordering system (website)
● Maintain printers and photocopiers. Utilize service contracts as needed
● Diagnose, and resolve phone related issues
● Assist with WMS (Warehouse Management System) related issues. (ScanForce)
● Maintain asset tracking system and document maintenance and asset accountability
● Create and maintain spreadsheets and cloud assets with access control policies
● Provide remote support to external staff in a remote desktop environment
IT Help Desk Requirements
● 2 years of experience working in a help desk / support environment
● Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer designation, preferred
● Prior information technology or systems administration experience
● Available to work overtime
● Proficiency with Windows operating systems
● Proficiency with iOS and Android mobile operating systems and devices
● Excellent oral communication skills
● Detail oriented in order to keep detailed notes on tickets
● Highly organized to keep help desk tickets in order
● Ability to diagnose and resolve computer technical issues
● Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace
● Experience with website management and structure
● Experience with soft-client phone systems
● Experience with ERP systems (Sage 100) preferred
● Familiarity with CRM systems preferred (Salesforce)
● Familiarity with computer networking
● Familiarity with Crystal Reports (Preferred)
