Overview
The empirical internship program is a best-in-class experience. It provides students the unique opportunity to work in a privately held, leading edge, manufacturing technology company. Our internship program helps us to identify future leaders as well as provide an opportunity for interns to experience our culture and see the variety of career paths available at empirical.
This opportunity is a temporary position that will last about 3 months. The intern will work on a part-time basis on design projects during the implementation of our new communication platform.
Responsibilities
- Create and edit visual designs for internal communication campaigns.
- Adapt visual content for printing and digital internal communication platforms.
- Edit photos and graphics to highlight the company’s culture.
- Reflect the company’s brand.
- Amend designs after feedback.
- Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to translate editorial content into visual content.
- Skilled in manipulating colors, shapes, fonts, images, photography, print design, logos, and animation.
- Knowledge about design elements, such as color and composition.
- Artistic ability and creativity.
- General computer knowledge and proficiency.
- Above average working knowledge of Adobe Suite and Canva or other design software.
Demonstrated Competencies
- Possess strong oral and visual communication skills.
- Comfortable engaging with people to capture ideas and translate them into visual designs.
- Ability to communicate visually, clearly, and effectively.
Physical Requirements
- Office setting.
Experience: Experience in translating communication scripts and campaigns into visual designs. Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related discipline.Department: Human Resources
