Optometrist Responsibilities
- Perform a mixture of intermediate and comprehensive eye exams on residents in senior living facilities.
- Diagnose and assist in the treatment of ocular disease.
- Prescribe corrective lenses or eye medications as needed.
- Provide pre and post-operative care to surgical patients.
- Promote healthy vision by counseling and educating patients.
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree and active Illinois license.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient personalities.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel to senior living facilities in designated areas.
- Compassion and empathy for the unique needs of elderly patients.
