If so, we are seeking a Sr Planning Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective project management of Maintenance Program US GTM Projects while working closely with all stakeholders (Pipeline Integrity, Facilities Integrity, Safety, Construction Management, Environment, Land Services, Project Controls, Supply Chain Management, etc.) to ensure the scope, schedule and budgets are maintained for each assigned project. What You Will Do: Safety Promote the safety performance and the safety and health of workers for assigned projects. Actively participate in the Enbridge Safety Leadership in Action program by performing safety observations, site safety inspections, risk assessments, process hazard assessments (PHA), and attending tailgate and pre-job meetings. Quality Actively drive quality by driving improvements to department procedures, processes, Enbridge specifications, performing site quality inspections, and participating in lessons learned meetings. Reviewing POs and ensuring the correct technical specifications are included or special engineering requirements are added to POs. Creating QA / checks in calculation sheets to ensure accuracy and correctness. Project Management / Planning Accountable for ensuring the scope, schedule and cost objectives are achieved by: Completing initial triage of digs and other project scope to determine the best execution team to execute the work. Assessment includes reviewing imagery files of scope location, completing cost estimates of the work, working with stakeholders to identify permit constraints and interfacing with the sponsor on cost, schedule, and scope requirements. Supports an effective transition from the planning phase to the execution phase. Potential to complete advanced cost estimates, plans, and schedules, for special digs or projects (cut-outs, line lowering, river isolation, etc.,). Lead large overarching department initiatives that aim to streamline processes (office and field) to increase the efficiency of the department. This can range from analyzing all aspects of field welding, NDE, etc., and determining areas for production improvements, cost reductions, changes in processes, Analyze and vet new initiatives ranging from the implementation of new technologies (ex: petrosleeves, metal core welding, new coatings, etc.,) to determine effectiveness of implementing them on the entire dig program and determine the impact on safety, cost, schedule and productivity Responsible for creating process & procedures within assigned portfolio to maintain or improve consistency. Completing design, engineering, and cost analysis of various aspects of the program. This can include mechanical design calculations and statistical analysis of long-term construction performance metrics, the identification of new construction metrics based on advanced statistics, and present to management on the need and benefit – and work with the database and PowerBI staff to define the data storage requirements, dashboard requirements for the new metrics and dashboards. Leads urgent tasks items to support unplanned work in the execution department (e.g. extra support for immediate digs). Adherence to the APEGGA Code of Ethics and adherence to the Enbridge Statement of Business Conduct. Who You Are: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management Demonstrated technical competence in at least one of the engineering disciplines, with the ability to overview and/or practice in other disciplines. 7 years of progressively complex detailed design and/or project management experience. Depending on technical education, accreditations and competency development in accordance with career ladders, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
