If you are fully qualified for all technical competencies required for the location and position and have extensive knowledge of operations and procedures, this could be an excellent opportunity for you! #joinourteam *Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role What you will do: Independently perform installation, testing, repair, and maintenance on compressor station equipment, and other facilities relevant to the pipeline system as required. Troubleshoot, test, and maintain shutdown devices, fire and gas systems, auxiliary systems, HVAC systems, control valves, PLC’s & control systems. Install & configure software in control systems. Use of SCADA to support operational requirements. Responsible to work within Company’s low voltage electrical safety work practices Perform emergency repairs Independently operate, calibrate, and maintain gas chromatograph equipment and flow meters Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot transmitters, analyzers Conduct ultrasonic metering inspections Use of flow computer systems to view data, alarms, and perform transmitter calibrations General working knowledge of centrifugal compressors, gas turbines exhaust system, power turbine, gas compressor, reciprocating gas compressor, valves, scrubbers, and valve actuators. Oversee the safe and efficient completion of maintenance work. Active control of contractors in accordance with Contractor Management Process. Ensure facilities and personnel comply with Enbridge safety, health, environment, and risk standards. Operate and maintain assigned compressor station, pipeline and right-of-way as well as mainline block valve sites, including surrounding grounds. Respond to and perform one call and emergency pipeline locates Responsible for regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures as associated with Department of Transportation (“DOT”) and Canadian Energy Regulator (“CER”), industry standards and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment. Responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions including accident and near miss reporting as well as emergency response involvement at all levels. Safe work permitting and contract management during maintenance activities. Manage of workflow using SAP which includes identifying and the execution of tasks, completion of work orders and purchase orders as required. Execution of work in accordance with area maintenance schedules, support of work backlog management, involvement in environment, safety and technical optimization initiatives and teams as well as the individual management of all required training. Follow and adhere to Company standard operational processes, procedures and practices. Foster high standards of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental stewardship. Model safe behavior based on safety principles. Who you are: Must have a two-year associates degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or equivalent in Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls. 8 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry Competent using equipment applicable to the maintenance of control systems Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills Demonstrated effective written & verbal communication skills Highly motivated with interpersonal skills to effectively work in a collaborative team environment that includes shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, support team and company objectives, and a willingness to work in all areas required by the team Fully competent and current with all Health, Safety and Environment standards and training Proficiency using a computer (i.e. Microsoft Office products) Familiar with Emergency Response Planning Preferred: Experience and knowledge of gas measurement, analyzers, meter and compressor station operations Previous experience with PLC's and SCADA systems Working Conditions: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable drivers abstract Must have the ability to enter and work in Canada and the United States (including meeting drug testing requirements as required) Incumbents of this position will be required to submit to Occupational Health and Safety (“OHS”) post offer baseline and on-going testing as required by regulation, including but not limited to: Audiometric Spirometry (Pulmonary Function Testing) Respirator Fit Testing Participation in the DOT random drug testing pool (only applicable if required to work on the US section of our pipeline). It is expected for the incumbent to live within 30-40 miles to the designated Compressor Station or Area Office for purposes of response. If deemed necessary, relocation may be provided per company policy. This position will be expected to be on call for operations on a rotational basis for the facilities in the area and respond to the system emergencies/unplanned outages. Physical Requirements: Include but are not limited to: Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. (2 hours per day). Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and other devises using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. Light Carrying: Physically transporting items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another. Moderate Carrying: Items weighing 15 to 44 pounds. Heavy Carrying: Items weighing 45 pounds and over. Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with fingers (including thumb) and palm. Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to come to rest on one or both knees. Light Lifting: Raising objects under 15 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from one position to another. Moderate Lifting: Objects 15-44 pounds. Heavy Lifting: Objects 45 pounds and over. Mobility Requirement: Enough to move laterally and vertically sometimes in awkward positions occasionally crouching in panels or enclosures. Can include awkward foot positions and twisting motion. Work from heights climbing fixed ladders wearing appropriate fall harness protection. Occasionally working from lifts to repair equipment. Pulling Hand over Hand: Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion (1 hours per day). Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or upward (1 hour per day). Reaching above shoulder: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time. Standing: Occasionally 8 (hours per day). Walking: Moving about on foot, particularly for long distances (8 hours per day). Visual Requirement: (Enough to see and read computer screens including laptop, desktop displays, HMI display, schematics and alignment sheets, small wiring labels inside control panels, and TV screens) Examples: Able to see and read PC screens, detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print). Hearing Requirement: Enough to: hold normal conversations, listen for abnormal. equipment noises, and able to listen for indications of gas flow or leaks. Also be able to listen for traffic during assigned tasks in the field along roadways (Examples: Able to detect specific noises, proper equipment operation, understand what clients are saying in normal conversation). Other Physical Requirement: Driving for extended periods both day and night. Mental Requirements: Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
