The Rigger’s role is critical in ensuring the success of our events. As a representative of the Production department, the Rigger will work with the team for the period outlined below and will report to the Lead Rigger.

COMMITMENT: Dates may change based on location

  • Install: Nov 01-26, 2022 (10-12 hrs per days / 7am - 7pm / 6 days per week)
  • Strike: Jan 02-15, 2023 (10-12 hr days / 7am - 7pm / 6 days per week)

May include some travel for training purposes

We are creators of a magical event called Enchant Christmas. We have hosted over three million guests over the past 5 years and have experienced significant growth. While Christmas is a big part of what we do, it is only the beginning of where we intend to go.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

The Rigger holds an important role with the Enchant team. The event is a ‘Light Maze’ where all the exhibits are wrapped in Christmas lights and include equipment and exhibits that are mounted overhead. It is essential that each element is properly secured with the approved level of rigging redundancy/secondaries.

Main responsibilities are outlined as follows:

  • Implement the rigging design under the guidance of the Lead Rigger.
  • Discuss any specific concerns with implementing the design with the Lead Rigger.
  • Gather any special equipment and supplies needed to install as planned.
  • Ensure that all ground mounted assets are secured before the end of a shift. This includes the use of ballast, guy wires, and other approved methodologies for securing assets.
  • Ensure all assets are connected/interconnected correctly and perform a spot check on the team.
  • Coordinate with heavy equipment operators. Inspecting and preparing loads that need to be moved/lifted.
  • Preparing rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, shackles, bolts etc.
  • Inspecting rigging before use.
  • Monitoring and maintaining rigging equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and company safety procedures.
  • Breaking down rigging equipment and conducting post-rigging inspections.
  • Record and report any damage to person or property during the operation
  • All Team members will hold multifaceted roles where in conjunction with their main responsibilities they will assist the Technical Site Manager and fellow team members with the following tasks as outlined but not limited to:
    • Assisting other teams and disciplines as needed
    • Unloading / loading shipments
    • Receiving deliveries
    • Prepping shipments for outbound transport
    • Distributing assets within the exhibit grounds
    • General setup and take down
    • Exhibit builds and construction
    • Stage/show equipment
    • Exhibit maintenance and repairs
    • General site tidiness
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

The Rigger will have experience in the following areas:

  • Event and/or Festival industry
  • Exhibit and/or Trade Show Management
  • 3 years working as a Rigger in the entertainment event / trade show field
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery.
  • Excellent hearing and vision.
  • Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions.
  • Ability to read construction drawing
  • Ability to lead a team of riggers and interact with all other disciplines as required

Secondary skills/knowledge:

  • Construction and installation methodologies: Tools, Equipment, Materials, and Processes.
  • A sincere desire to help create magical memories.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • OSHA 10 training
  • Minimum Level 1 NCCCO certification or approved equivalent.
