CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (COTA)
Rate range: $26.54 – $34.07/hour DOE
Location: Encompass Child Development Center, Snoqualmie, WA
Schedule: 20 hours per week, Part-time, Non-exempt

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is responsible for the implementation of occupational therapy goals as developed by supervising OTR for children ages three to 8 years old in a clinic or community-based program setting. This includes participating in a multi-disciplinary team with Physical Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Mental Health Therapists, Public Health Nurses and Special Educators monitoring treatment progress, assisting supervising OTR with the development of ongoing individualized goals and regular progress reports, and participating with team members in supervisory and team meetings.

This includes participating in a multi-disciplinary team with Physical Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Mental Health Therapists, Public Health Nurses and Special Educators monitoring treatment progress, assisting supervising OTR with the development of ongoing individualized goals and regular progress reports, and participating with team members in supervisory and team meetings.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Professional interaction with one or more supervising OTRs.
- Review of completed documentation on children to be added to caseload prior to start of service.
- Complete written daily treatment sessions within 48 hours, to document services rendered.
- Assist supervising OTR with planning and implementing appropriate new goals and objectives relating to skill development as appropriate for each of the children on caseload.
- Maintain records on each child as mandated in policy and procedures manual in order to monitor progress and document factors affecting skill acquisition.
- Supervise student interns.
- Provide daily insurance billing information to facilitate timely reimbursement.
- Provide services to both children and families, offering parent participation during treatment to encourage parent involvement and training.
- Monitor and track caseload requirements with ongoing new referrals as children change from caseload.
- Participate in staff development/training opportunities.
- Attend team meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required
- Applied Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy with current Washington State licensure.
- Pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check if not in state for more than the past 3 years
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- At least one year of pediatric experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Copy of current Washington Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license day of hire
- NBCOT Certification
