- Position: Registered Nurse, PACU CVI
- Location: Glenbrook Hospital
- Full Time/Part Time: Full-time, 32hrs/week
- Available shifts: Rotating
- Required Travel: Must be willing to travel to other NorthShore sites
The ASU/PACU Registered Nurse is accountable for providing high-quality, individualized, goal-directed care for patients of all age levels and their families throughout the Perioperative continuum of care: Pre-op, PACU phase I, and PACU phase II.
License/Certification
- Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse Licensure
- American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification
- AHA ACLS preferred (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
- AHA PALS preferred (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
- CPAN/CAPA certification preferred
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- At least one year of experience as a staff nurse
- ASC, Pre-op, PACU, ICU, Telemetry, Acute Care inpatient surgical nursing preferred
- Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills
- Communicates effectively and is able to guide non-nursing personnel
- Demonstrates a commitment to the mission of NorthShore University HealthSystem
- Exhibits service orientation and adheres to the responsibilities and standards of the hospital
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to patients and their families
- Maintains competency reflective of current practice standards
- Interacts and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues
- Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice
- Integrates evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice
- Recognizes and adjusts to situations that vary from the norm
- Promotes safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries
- Guides and supervises staff in the provision of patient care
- Enhances own professional growth and development
- Maintains a safe, therapeutic working environment and recognizes need for action in emergency situations
- Documentation is thoroughly and timely completed
- Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promoting high-quality patient experience
