The Position
The Associate Web Developer position builds high performance websites using Energy Circle’s (EC’s) Drupal/ WordPress distribution. This position includes site building, theming, content migration, and responsive CSS coding. You’ll work with our in-house development team, information architects, digital marketing strategists, graphic designers, and content strategists to build responsive sites with best-in-class conversion optimization and exceptional UI design. In addition to client site building, the role will also be relied upon to support the EC team with general technical expertise, specific projects such as integrating third party API’s, the development of new features and functionality within the EC marketing platform, technical troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing sites. We’re a committed open source shop working primarily in Drupal and WordPress.
This is a mid-level position and you should have:
- 2-3 years work experience in web development - building/ developing websites in Drupal & WordPress
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in advanced site building in Drupal 7
- Strong HTML / CSS skills
- Experienced with Version Control (git), SCSS, jQuery
- Familiarity with command line & its tools - Composer, Drush, WP-CLI
- Familiarity with various server environments - and understanding of FTP / SFTP / SSH
- Excellent collaboration skills and enthusiasm for the web development process
- Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical clients
In an ideal world, you’d also have:
- Experience implementing external libraries, JavaScript
- Experience creating themes from scratch for Drupal/ WordPress
- Experience working with and implementing 3rd party API integrations
- Server and Database management / maintenance experience - Pantheon a big plus!
- Other CMS platforms are a plus (Wix, Squarespace, Shopify etc.)
- Experience working in an agency
