The Senior Manager, People and Culture (PC) is responsible for the overall execution and administration of the tasks associated with the People and Culture leadership team. As a member of the Energy Solutions team, you will have the opportunity to support a growing company and shape the employee experience.
This position requires the ability to build and leverage relationships, while effectively balancing ongoing, short-term tactical work with longer-term strategic needs and challenges. The Senior Manager will be responsible for supporting the Chief People Officer and Director, People and Culture, with collaborating and implementing on a variety of people and culture initiatives supporting the business. This includes onboarding, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), strategic planning, change management, analytics, learning and development, compliance, benefits, career planning, policies and procedures and other duties while working in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Manager, PC needs to be proactive in solving problems, providing credible options regarding the people and culture implications of business decisions and plans. Subject matter expertise in HR best practice and employment law is essential.
We have offices in Oakland, CA, Orange, CA, Portland, OR as well as Boston, New York and Chicago and we operate in a hybrid working environment. This position will be expected to report to an office 1-2 times per week.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support People and Culture Strategic Plan goals
- Manage the development of job descriptions and career lattice project for current and new positions
- Support internal and external audits
- Review and update policies, procedures and processes, and make recommendations
- Support people and culture communication strategies
- Work collaboratively with other PC Leadership on the selection, implementation and use of new HRIS system
- Supervise and develop junior team members
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance in consult with PC leadership and the Compliance and Risk Management teams
- Support the employee onboarding experience
- Lead special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field and 9 years’ human resource experience or 11 years of experience in the HR field
- Minimum of 5 years’ successful supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience with creating and editing job descriptions and career ladders/lattices
- Experience with HRIS implementation
- Working knowledge of Employment Law
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build relationships across departments and levels
- High level of emotional intelligence and a growth mindset
- Ability to pivot in times of unpredictability at a growing company
- Deadline and task-oriented
- Strong project management experience
- Strong business acumen
- Must live close enough to one of our offices to work in-person 1-2 days per week
Preferred Qualifications:
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, HRCI-SPHR or PHR certification
- PMP certification
- Experience working in an international organization and/or federal contractor
- Working knowledge of CA Employment Law
Salary DOE: $105,000 - $125,000/Annually
