What would you do?
- Provide the skills needed for the performance of the position.
- Visually inspect the aerial lifts and digger derricks.
- Operate various types of equipment such as track-hoe, aerial lift, digger derricks.
- Perform all preventative maintenance and repairs to aerial lifts and derricks in accordance with the manufacturers and ANSI Guidelines.
- Assist in making recommendations to improve the Cooperative’s fleet operations.
- Maintain the maintenance programs for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Observe all work rules, safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Encourage a high degree of understanding and appreciation of the cooperative way of doing business among employees, members, and the public.
- Promote an effective member and public relations program through community participation and involvement.
- Provide the necessary skills to maintain and repair cars, trucks, trailers and off-road equipment in a safe, efficient, quality minded and member focused manner.
- Perform operational tests on vehicles and equipment to quality check all repairs.
- Provide monthly reports for tracking operational and maintenance costs.
- Perform work as required with specialized equipment such as A/C Refrigerant – Recovery-Reclaim Units, grinders, torches, welding / cutting and computerized engine analyzers, hydraulic systems, etc.
- Coordinate emergency services for the Cooperative vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain the service garages and assigned areas in a neat, clean, and safe manner free from hazards.
- Work with the Fleet Mechanic Supervisor to achieve agreed upon results.
- Conduct routine checks of fuel pumps, fire extinguishers and other Safety Equipment.
- Complete all work Safely and in accordance with DOT, FMCSA, ANSI, Federal, State and local ordinances.
