Compensation Range: $56,600 - $85,100
Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.
Job Purpose
Manage and ensure the purchasing of materials, services, and/or equipment for the assigned purchasing portfolio, within the set procurement policies and guidelines, to ensure an uninterrupted and timely supply at optimum cost within specifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all Purchase Requests are accurate and complete before processing.
- Uses knowledge of material planning and engineering processes/procedures to coordinate product deliveries.
- Request, receive, review and analyze competitive bids, quotes, and proposals from vendors.
- Assist with market research and prepare purchase orders for approved requisitions.
- Receive, review, validate and process packing slips/receiving documents against purchase orders for type, quantity, and delivery condition.
- Manage open orders – Reconcile problems, issues or delays in the procurement of equipment and services.
- Notify sales/customer service concerning delays.
- Maintain purchase order data by ensuring procurement records are complete, accurate, and comply with internal/external policies and procedures.
- Assist in writing and/or revising operating procedures for the procurement process.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on the procurement status.
- Follow up with suppliers after orders have been placed to ensure the order has been received and the items will be delivered on time.
- Order/track all KanBan materials (including Purchase Request generation).
- Make online purchases for supplies and services.
- Collate, scan, and file paperwork for Accounting Department on received orders. This includes: purchase requests, POs, quotes, pack slips, and invoices.
- Review and resolve supplier invoice discrepancies.
- Support pricing, terms, and delivery lead time negotiations with suppliers.
- Identify and manage aerospace suppliers to enhance the quality of items procured, eliminate problems, ensure material availability, and reduce costs.
- Support qualifying potential new suppliers.
- Report directly to the Procurement Manager.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Prior experience with procurement and contracting.
- Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent)
- “Off” hours or weekend support may be required at times.
- Ability to follow and execute standard operating procedures in an aerospace environment (AS9100).
- Executes work with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work within a close knit team to strict deadlines.
- Proficient experience in an ERP system.
- Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
