Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Seguin, TX
Pay Range: $36.00 - $45.00
Overview and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team, focusing on New Product Introduction (NPI) in a Diesel Engine Facility. This role is pivotal in closing a skill set gap within our team, specifically targeting expertise in assembly tool and fixture design. The ideal candidate will support our Manufacturing Engineering team with in-house design of assembly aids, fixtures, jigs, etc., and concepting lifting devices for external suppliers before quotation or purchase.
In this role, you will:
- Design and develop tools, fixtures, jigs, and assembly aids.
- Support new manufacturing processes for diesel engine production.
- Conduct layouts, process planning, and time studies.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, logistics engineers, and engine design engineers.
- Operate effectively in an environment with changing requirements and ambiguity.
- Communicate effectively across large and diverse teams, ensuring clear reporting of decisions and results.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical leadership to ensure product integration and quality.
- Engage in continuous improvement activities and support production maintenance projects.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
- 3 years of experience in the field.
- Willing to accept Associate’s or Master’s degree with adequate experience.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in CAD tools, with a preference for Creo.
- Proven experience in designing tools, fixtures, jigs, etc.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills across various teams.
- Excellent time management.
- Ability to operate and make decisions in ambiguous environments.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD tools may be acceptable.
- Background in diesel engine manufacturing or related fields is beneficial but not required.
Work Environment:
- You will be working on confidential projects within the diesel engine business, implementing new manufacturing processes to build new engines.
- The role involves a combination of practical design work and project management.
- You will need to be adept at communicating with different levels of management, providing concept reviews, technical and business status updates, and working closely with team members located in different global locations.
