Job Summary:
The IT Manager integrates, coordinates and plans resources to achieve hospital strategic goals via management,user preparation, and support of IT systems. Organizes, manages and develops project team resources in order to effectively meet project commitments and business objectives. Forms interdisciplinary project teams consisting of IT professionals and operational owners to implement major IT applications. Manages the design, acquisition, implementation and evaluation of IT systems.Principal duties/responsibilities include the following:
- Manages resourcs toward the successful support and implementation IT Systems, inclusive of user preparation, training, and onboarding of new users and/or practice groups.
- Evaluates current user needs to consistently provide support and training emphasis through the delivery of at -the-elbow support strategies.
- Engages in the evaluation, implementation, and support of digital and artificial intelligence technologies and solutions that are complimentary to existing administrative, clinical, and business systems.
- Interfaces with different operational departments, demonstrating best practice solutions and upcoming technologies to improve efficiency in workflows.
- Prepares, monitors and maintains departmental budgets as assigned.
- Provides Back-up (Support and Coverage) to Other IT Managerial Staff.
- Supervises staff, recommends and implements policies, and acts as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies with regard to the utilization of the IT Systems.
- Participates and supports overall IT planning and departmental initiatives.
- Provides consultative services to customers and information technology teams as to workflow processes and technological solutions.
- In conjunction with other IT personnel and/or third party vendors; tests, monitors and supports all interfaces to/from and among all existing and proposed systems.

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.
- 2 years’ experience in Healthcare Information Systems, with practical experience in healthcare operations and systems analysis required.
- 2 years of management/lead experience or experience in experience in leading system implementations and project managemen of strategic integrated team projects is required.
- Experience with Epic system implementation is preferred.
- Technical knowledge of HL7 interfaces, integration, operating systems, and conversions is preferred.
- Strong leadership characteristics and managerial skills that empower and develop others.
- Ability to plan, direct and coordinate all activities of an applications support group with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the expertise to translate technical terminology into terms understandable by management, department heads and performance level personnel.
- An understanding of the healthcare applications suite and their place in the acute care, physician, ambulatory and ancillary settings.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Education Requirements:
High School diploma required.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems a plus. Advance degree is a plus.
