Description:

We are seeking a full-time Senior Firmware Engineer to join our Research and Development Team. In this role, you will specify, implement, optimize, and validate firmware for new high-performance scientific instruments and improve existing ones. Your main responsibility will be developing new embedded software and supporting ongoing software projects, with a focus on sensor integration, hardware configurations, and communication protocols. Tasks include design, coding, debugging, testing, and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the R&D team to explore the latest technologies.
• Design state-of-the-art embedded firmware that seamlessly integrates probes, meters, controls, and sensors using the latest advancements.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless firmware integration and solve complex business challenges.
• Document all aspects of the design process thoroughly.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and product development engineering as a subject matter expert.
• Participate in cross-functional design reviews.
• Assist in developing project delivery schedules.
• Develop software and algorithms to explore and validate new technologies for project requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required.
• 5-10 years of experience in embedded systems design with modern microcontrollers.
• Proficiency in C, data structures, and programming concepts from driver to application level.
• Understanding of scientific instrumentation concepts.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Renesas (RX series) microprocessors, including FIT modules, and the DTC controller is a plus.
• Experience with Eclipse IDE.
• Experience with Qt and embedded Linux is a plus.
• US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
