The USC Office of Admission is seeking an Associate Director, International Recruitment (Admissions Program Manager I) to join our team. The Associate Director manages staff and operations of a program in the USC Office of Undergraduate Admission. The office is seeking an Associate Director who will specialize in the management and execution of international recruitment.  The incumbent will have previous experience in international admission within the context of highly selective admission.  They will also have established understanding, experience, and relationships with schools, counselors, and organizations whose specialty is in the international admission landscape.  This role recruits, screens, hires, trains, schedules and assigns work. Assesses performance of direct reports and provides feedback. In addition, this role identifies and recommends opportunities for staff training and professional growth. We are seeking experienced candidates with proven knowledge of best practices in undergraduate recruitment and admission in the domestic and international marketplace. The selected candidate should have experience using data, evaluating the marketplace and analyzing for results and trends in undergraduate recruitment.

In addition to assisting the Assistant Dean with recruitment strategy, the Associate Director will set goals and objectives for assigned international territory, and measures performance against objectives. Recommends changes or enhancements to existing programs based on continuous feedback and evaluation. This position reviews caseloads of applications and monitors progress of counselors. Reviews applications and makes admissions decisions particularly in borderline cases. In addition, the Associate Director will counsel applicants on admission policies and procedures. Evaluates and offers solutions to applicant problems and requests regarding admission. Applies transfer credit guidelines in review and assessment of applications, as appropriate. Resolves difficult problems referred by others and provides technical guidance, as required. Provides policy interpretation and review – and decides exception requests as deemed appropriate.

Under the direction of senior leadership, the selected candidate will be expected to assist in development and implementation of marketing plans, strategies and materials aimed at enhancing recruitment and conversion. Have in-depth knowledge and cultural understanding of education in Asia and regions across the globe.  Currency of trends and issues impacting international students.  Identify marketing messages and ensure incorporation in presentations and publications. Plan and make public presentations as part of outreach efforts. Represent USC and assigned programs to students, parents, alumni, high school and community college teachers. Coordinate involvement of university staff and faculty at admissions events to enhance recruitment and conversion efforts. Maintain professional currency through active participation and leadership in associations and committees – both internal and external to the university. This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Admission.
