General Laborer

General Helper employees must: 

• Possess a valid TWIC.
• Steel toe boots/shoes.
• are not using cellular phones while on duty.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions. 

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsibilities include general warehouse duties, such as loading and unloading trucks, operation of equipment, and maintaining sanitation and housekeeping. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate the scrubbing machine and aid in the general organization of the warehouse. 
• De-slating and/or slating of product. 
• Loading and unloading of containers via hand and/or forklift. 
• Pallet inventory control organization. 
• Handle and transport materials. 
• Use power tools and machinery (e.g. cutting tool, forklifts) when needed.
• Establishes leadership in terms of setting examples in appearance, attendance, demeanor, responsibility, and dedication to the company.

• Maintain sanitation and housekeeping in the work and dock area.

• Ensures goods are stored in the correct area for efficient retrieval. 
• Performs quality checking responsibilities as required.
• Additional duties as assigned. the supervisor of situations that are unsafe or not in the best interest of the team.

• Responsible for ensuring all team tasks are completed by the end of the shift.
• Works on miscellaneous projects as needed.
• Able to function independently, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative and tact in handling all the above responsibilities.

Education & Experience Requirement:

• Excellent interpersonal skills, respectful and kind to self and others.

• Good understanding of warehouse operations.
• Quality auditing experience.
• Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
• 6 months of warehouse experience performing quality audits. 
• Familiar with export-import requirements and documents.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds, with assistance or lifting machinery as necessary. 
• Must wear Seaonus required safety PPE, Safety vest, hard, gloves, etc. 
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
• Working indoors and outdoors. 
• Excessive heat or cold, extreme weather conditions, excessive humidity or dampness or chilling. 
• Slippery and uneven walking surfaces. 
• Work around machinery with moving parts.
