The Role

Entegris is seeking a highly motivated Supervisor, R&D who thrives in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are paramount. 

You will be a key player on a dynamic R&D/New Product Introduction team to oversee the development and deployment of both solid and liquid chemistries for the company’s Advanced Deposition Materials group.  Challenges will vary depending on the industry needs which will require innovation and multi-faceted solutions.   This role will include direct interaction with product managers, engineers and senior scientists to fulfill production deliverables

In this role you will

• Responsible for safety culture in the laboratory space
• Responsible for day-to-day activities of a team of chemists to schedule their daily and weekly tasks. These may include synthesis, purification, sublimation and filling of containers with different chemistries for customers.
• Coordinating technical requests from engineers, senior scientists and product managers for support of their projects.
• Participating in meetings with product managers, marketing and technical staff to ensure these high-quality chemicals are manufactured and shipped on time
• Managing inventory control
• Managing resources to manufacture re-occurring chemical makes and fills
• Coordinating resources to perform root cause analysis on customer returns
• Responsible for maintaining and improving chemist training
• Manage the labs (ensure they’re maintained, help order/ensure all parts/glassware/tubing/fittings/etc are always in stock
• Work on personal/professional development opportunities for chemists and techs

Traits we believe make a strong candidate

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or similar technical field required. Master’s or PhD degree would be a plus.
• Demonstrated experience (5-7 years) of increasing responsibilities in a chemical manufacturing industry.
• Excellent organizational skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple activities;
• Ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization;
• Accessible by laptop computer and cell phone for occasional use during off hours;
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project);
• Working knowledge of software development lifecycle models (Accolade, MSProject);
• Expertise with SAP.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in training chemists on complex distillation, sublimation and fill processes;
• Exhibited strong safety culture and drive to improve
• Good experience with SAP to manage inventory and planning
• Demonstrated time management skills to meet timelines and schedules.
• Direct experience on Distillation, Sublimation and Glove Box equipment;
• Demonstrated innovation and troubleshooting of chemical purification systems.
