JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
Provides first line supervision of Entergy full time and temporary Radiation Protection Support personnel in a safe, productive manner. Supervises the daily RP Support tasks including instrument calibration, shipping, and dosimetry functions. Manages multiple and possibly conflicting priorities.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Is proficient at managing a multi-disciplined group possibly including union and contractor oversight.
- Maintains an excellent understanding of the work management process. Is able to function as a team leader. Assists in the RP budget development and functions within the budget.
- Communicates with all levels of the organization including representing the department at all meetings. Ensures assigned tasks are performed as safely and efficiently as possible.
- Proposes time saving tooling and work methods. Ensures all RP Support activities are performed within regulatory and procedural guidelines. Manages personnel and resolves employee conflict or concerns. Interfaces with other Entergy sites to maximize resource sharing of RP Support personnel.
- Interfaces with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities.
- Communicates technical Radiation Protection instrumentation and dosimetry information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing. Participates in the shared resources program. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum education required of the position
- High school diploma, 2 years of technical training, and 5 years of experience in the related field. (B.S. in Engineering or related technical degree may be credited for 3 years of experience.) or equivalent work experience.
Minimum experience required of the position
- Candidates for this position must meet requirements specified in ANSI/ANS Standards and Regulatory Guidelines. In addition, site Technical Specifications, FSAR, or procedures may contain additional requirements. Hiring Managers are required to submit attachment 9.1 from EN-HR-137 for any candidate selected for this job. ANSI Section 4.3.2 - Supervisors Not Requiring NRC Licenses: High School Diploma or equivalent. 4 years of experience in craft or discipline he/she supervises. At least 5 years experience in the RP instrumentation and dosimetry.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
- Technical proficiency in the RP Support area.
- Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.
- Proficiency with current computer business applications.

At the time of initial core loading or appointment to the position, whichever is later, a supervisor in this category shall have a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in the craft or discipline he supervises."
WORKING CONDITIONS:
As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects its employees to be available to work additional hours, to work in alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company. Exempt employees may not be paid overtime associated with such duties.
