General Description of Duties
Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to perform technical and analytical work in developing infrastructure designs and plans for both current and future strategies for information management and information technology goals, objectives, and initiatives related to the network, voice and data, and information security. Employee is expected to have extensive knowledge and experience of Microsoft operating systems and infrastructure software, security administration, and LAN and WAN infrastructure technologies.
The Sr Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, health, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. The Sr Systems Administrator leads and/or participates in technical research and development to enable continual innovation within the infrastructure. TheSr Systems Administrator ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational strategies and values, enabling client.

Administration
- Determine root cause of issues and communicate appropriately.
- Develop and maintain installation, operations, and configuration procedures.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware and software.
- Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
- Provide technical support after normal work hours when necessary.
- Responsible for documenting the configuration of systems.
Customer Service
- Advise management on situations that may require additional customer support or escalation.
- Consistently provide excellent customer service.
- Communicates to the customer the status of requests for technical assistance as well as establishes a service level expectation with them.
- Follow all relevant standards and procedures.
- Thoroughly document incident descriptions, activities and resolutions.
Innovation
- Develop and mature Information Technology processes to ensure free flowing escalation and information within the organization.
- Introduce and integrate new technologies into existing environment.
- Design and implement highly-available hardware and software systems across multiple operating systems.
Project
- Designing, installing and configuring new hardware and software.
- Decommission legacy hardware and software.
- Migrate and/or upgrade hardware and software.
- Analyze application requirements, developers' needs, and technical constraints, then provide tailored solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Five (5) or more years of progressively knowledgeable, responsible and skilled experience in systems and networking including the following areas:
- Proven ability to design, architect, develop, and maintain a medium to large scale network and server environment.
- Five (5) or more years of experience with the following:
- Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems.
- Active Directory design, administration, and management
- Office 365 administration, migration and management
- MS Azure server administration, migration and management
Desired Experience:
Knowledge of scripting languages (Windows PowerShell and VBScript).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of principles and methods applied to information technology infrastructure, planning, implementation, and management.
Extensive knowledge of the body of available and current information resources applicable to the department's functions for technical research purposes and for special projects as may be assigned.
Ability to organize work, establish priorities, meet established deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimum direction.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing.
Extensive knowledge of the methods, tools, and techniques applied to diverse IT Support in complex multi-platform networked environments.
Extensive knowledge of various current technologies relevant to existing applications, systems and/or upcoming installations, e.g., Microsoft technologies; programming / scripting languages; web, server, and voice/data network technologies.
Skill in reading and interpreting technical and trade journals, industry specific periodicals, product/manufacturer specifications, and related technical information and data.
Ability to analyze, implement, maintain and repair new technological software and programs; ability to evaluate, diagnose and develop solutions to potential and real operational and system deficiencies to ensure continued and non-disrupted service to system users.
Ability to utilize personal computers, standard office equipment and standard software applications, e.g., word processors, database software, spreadsheet applications.
