A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MASON / APPRENTICE
nAs a Mason / Apprentice, you play an essential role in our company. Whether you're building a new chimney or repairing an existing one, you provide the quality work we're known for. You perform your masonry magic on either brick, concrete, or natural stone. Following our client's specifications, you mix the mortar, cut the materials, and set them in a way that is pleasing to view from all angles. Always conscientious, you precisely follow the requirements for a safe job site, including the use of proper personal protective equipment.
nOn occasion, you fill in as a lead technician. Among other tasks, you rebuild masonry fireplaces, assist in building the scaffolding, sweep chimneys, or do demolition work. You also ensure that the tools, workspaces, and vehicles are well cleaned and maintained. The work is strenuous, but that's one of the things you like about it. You enjoy using your strength to create something useful and attractive that will last for years to come!

QUALIFICATIONS

- Familiarity with common masonry techniques n
- Capacity to use the necessary hand and power tools n
- Ability to perform all the physical functions of the job such as lifting over the head, climbing scaffolding, working at heights, and carrying stones up to 60 pounds singly or 100 pounds with assistance n
- Willingness to attend all safety and employee meetings n
- Willingness to travel to conventions or to work out of town for a week or more n
