POSITION SUMMARY:

Soft-Pak, a San Diego company is looking for a RPG Programmer to work within Development and Support of Software Products/ Applications in the IBM iSeries environment. Sound technical knowledge of IBM technologies (RPG, ILE, CL, CLLE and DB2 programming) and communicating with other systems.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Designs, develops, maintains, extends applications, and implements projects.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to build business sustainable solutions.
  • Supports a wide range of technology projects including configurations, software development, integration, installation of patches and upgrades, etc.
  • Provides support for system/interfacing applications.
  • Code programs using all forms of RPGLE including free form and embedded SQL RPGLE, CLLE, and DDS.
  • Follow standards as outlined in the Programming Standards and Guidelines documentation.
  • Complete all tasks by deadlines assigned by management to meet team objectives.
  • Maintain a positive contribution as a member of the Programming Team.
  • Keep up to date on the latest OS version, programming language levels and other industry releases.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Development and Support of Software Products/ Applications in the IBM iSeries environment.
  • Sound technical knowledge of IBM technologies (RPG, ILE, CL, CLLE and DB2 programming) and communicating with other systems.
  • Experience in successful implementation and integration of new software systems into existing environments.
  • Ability to collaborate with other technical experts and develop solution and functional design documents to support development of final solutions.
  • Excellent team player with good attitude, strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
