What we’re looking for:
In this position you will oversee all aspects of transportation operations for Envision Cold, including sites in both the U.S. and Canada. We see this leadership role growing to oversight of North America within the following 24 months. You will be key in the strategic planning, budgeting, fleet management and safety and regulatory compliance across these locations.
The candidate should reside in the Blaine WA area but we are open to hybrid/remote work for qualified candidates who live in Tri Cities WA, Salt Lake City UT, Boise ID, or Atlanta GA . Relocation assistance is available for the ideal candidate.
What you’ll do (including, but not limited to):
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
- Manage transportation sales and support revenue growth.
- Oversee fuel program and strategize continual cost savings.
- Lead the transportation operation leaders over multiple sites.
- Oversee the management of the organization's fleet of vehicles, including maintenance, acquisition, and disposal.
- Oversight of Brokerage Services.
- Implement and manage our TMS strategies and vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including safety standards, licensing, and permits.
- Develop and manage transportation budgets, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Aid in the design and optimization of transportation routes to maximize efficiency and minimize fuel consumption.
- Coordinate with transportation service providers, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance to ensure service level agreements are met.
- Plan, direct and coordinate all delivery and backhaul activities.
- Drive Key Performance Indicators for cost savings.
- Efficiently utilize manpower via proper scheduling and training to provide the highest level of customer service.
- Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize accidents and ensure the well-being of drivers and customers.
- Build and mentor a team of transportation staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Analyze transportation data and performance metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for optimization.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet customer transportation needs and resolve any issues or concerns.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in transportation management, with demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices, including DOT, FMCSA and CCMTA.
- Experience in Freight Brokering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in transportation management software and systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Valid Passport as travel between sites in the U.S. and Canada is required.
