The Opportunity
This is an exceptional opportunity for an operational leader to enter a growth-stage marketing agency at a very exciting time and be a part of the 3-year vision to scale the business two-fold. We are looking for a seasoned professional that understands the agency environment and how to maintain clarity and organization during times of rapid growth. Envisionit is a digital agency based in Chicago with Fintech and Tourism being key industry segments and capabilities that span the disciplines of Media, Creative, Web Development, Analytics and SEO.
As our Chief Operating Officer, your mission as the right hand to the CEO is to execute on the vision you will be a part of developing in tandem with the executive leadership team. You will evaluate, optimize and scale our systems, processes, people and execution partners. You will lead, coach and mentor the leadership team. And you will create visibility for critical KPIs and leading indicators of growth and risk.
This is an executive leadership role, requiring expertise in business strategy, team leadership, and growth planning with a deep understanding of business management methodologies. Applicants must be local to Chicago. We have a hybrid environment, but critical leadership meetings happen in-person.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as the “right hand” to the CEO to help build/maintain an engaging company culture that ensures employee engagement, retention and core values are being upheld
- Collaborate with CEO and Leadership Team in setting and driving organizational vision and operational strategy
- Act as “Integrator” for the company, taking personal accountability for ensuring the vision is executed on effectively across the organization
- Always have an eye towards profitability, ensuring margins are maximized across all business units
- Manage, mentor and coach the Leadership Team with the core disciplines of Paid Media, Creative, Technology, SEO and Analytics rolling up into your per view
- Help define and oversee the company’s approach to business intelligence and the critical operational KPIs that speak to progress on current goals and future vision benchmarks
- Ensure employee productivity objectives are met while building a highly engaged and inclusive culture
- Oversee high-level staffing strategy leveraging full-time, contractor and partner strategies to fill execution needs alongside agency growth, working with department leaders to implement
- Oversee HR to ensure effective recruiting, training, professional development and performance management
- Adhere to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary
Key Requirements
- Chicago-based and willing to meet in person for key meetings and to advance interpersonal relationships
- 10 years' experience in operational leadership positions within a marketing/ad agency or professional services environment
- Experience managing a P&L of $10MM-$25MM (excluding media)
- Experience working with or adjacent to paid media teams
- A passion for mentorship and leadership
- A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
- Familiarity with the EOS operating system is a plus
