Highlights of the job
We are hiring up to three (3) Permanent, Full Time Labourer 2 positions working out of Edmonton, AB.
What you’d be responsible for
- Conducting surface repairs of water D&T assets
- Operating water distribution valves
- Operating water transmission valves under supervision/guidance
- Flushing and inspecting hydrants
- Various labour duties related to the water distribution system
What’s required to be successful
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year of related labour experience
- A valid Class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's License (with 6 demerits or less). A Driver Abstract will be required
- Ability to qualify for and maintain a valid EPCOR driver's permit is required Successful candidates may be required to use their own vehicle for business purposes. Reimbursements will be made in accordance with EPCOR's vehicle allowance policy
- Able to meet the physical demands required of this position. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing will be required
- Clearance on a security background check will be required
Our best candidates must possess the analytical thinking/decision making and mechanical skills required to carry out their responsibilities. This position also requires one to have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Wage: Starting at $25.89 per hour (Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and are subject to change based on the ratification of the new Collective Agreement.)
Hours of work: 10 hours per day, 4 days per week; subject to compressed hours and the "Alternate Hours of Work Addendum" as per the current CUPE 30 Collective Agreement.
Note: The selected candidates may be required to work overtime and perform job duties at work locations both within and outside the boundaries of the City of Edmonton.
