Your Focus:
We are looking to add an experienced leader and manager to Equifax’s evolving area of Authentication and Fraud Prevention. The team performs advanced analytics across large datasets to improve the performance of authentication for the business units and products supported by the risk platform. Equifax has developed an authentication engine using large technical teams, a strong group of data scientists and analysts, experienced fraud thought leadership, and dedicated monitoring and review personnel. This risk and authentication platform validates and protects Equifax data accessed directly by consumers through multiple channels. We are hiring a leader to manage and guide the team that owns the rules and models (the decisioning) governing the risk and trust outcomes leading to an authentication decision. This leader will leverage a strong analytical and fraud/risk background to guide a growing team to make strong data driven decisions within the context of fraud behavior to improve KPIs. The leader will work closely with technology, product, and operations teams to identify ways to enhance fraud infrastructure, tools, and processes to enable a secure and seamless experience for our customers while managing fraud loss and addressing existing and emerging fraud trends. The position requires an experienced fraud professional with a passion for growth, strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication and an ability to build relationships across internal and external teams.

Job description:
- Use a data-driven approach to understand fraud risk and design effective application, transaction, and payment authentication/fraud prevention approaches
- Execute changes to the fraud strategy (requires directing a team working with Python, R or similar languages)
- Establish the appropriate analytical environment and reporting to ensure comprehensive fraud coverage
- Work directly with the Customer Operations leadership team responsible for execution of the fraud strategy
- Incorporate direct feedback from manual review on suspicious transactions to improve decisioning approach
- Research and remain current on the latest industry fraud trends and recommend tools, services, and practices for improvement
- Identify and develop process improvements/automation to maximize efficiency of fraud detection activities as required
- Review, evaluate, and drive selection of new data and risk vendors or technologies to enhance the fraud strategy and mitigate emerging risks
- Define and drive the strategy to scale the decisioning approach across many internal and external users from both a ruleset/model and team perspective
- Work closely with technical teams to drive improvements to decisioning, consumer performance, and/or data source integration; partner with technical teams on building and validating decisioning on new customers and features
Requirements:
- Motivated by challenges and the opportunity to build a market leading approach to authentication, drive company revenue, and support continuous approval cycles
- Ability to manage a large team of direct and non-direct reports implementing new decisioning logic and continued improvements to the existing rule set
- 5+ years fraud and or authentication experience owning and leading approach
- Strong analytical background working with large data sets including strong SQL abilities
- Team management experience, proven capacity to evaluate and hire talent
- History of working directly with data science team on model development supported by a working knowledge of machine learning and/or other advanced data mining techniques leveraging such languages as Python/R/Java, etc.
- Experience with statistical modeling techniques including matching algorithm, time-series analysis, user profiling, clustering and classification
- Advanced data analytics in a big data environment within a risk & fraud function is ideal
- College degree required, advanced degree in analytical field a plus
- Big data, graph database, and related experience a plus
- Agile environment experience a plus
