The DBA Manager will manage DB2, IMS, IIAS, Oracle, SQL and Mongo DBA’s providing support for OnPrem and Cloud (Azure) based production, QA and development environments. This role is key to mission critical business applications that require working in tandem our offshore teams, incident management, change management and identifying key process methods for efficient delivery of service. A successful candidate will have five years of experience in database systems and architecture including performance tuning for enterprise applications. The candidate will maintain database policies and procedures as well as fully understand compliance regulations related to data management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains the overall integrity and quality of the databases, including regular data improvement and enforcement of database business processes and management of compliance, business rules and other set-up functions of the databases. Maintains database standards, enforcing policies, and controls.
  • Set strategic direction for the design and deployment of corporate databases
  • Ensure that best practices are followed in all areas including backup/restore, space management,
  • Providing database deliverables, such as logical databases, capacity planning, data maintenance plans, and security policies.
  • Reviews, updates organization procedures to increase efficiency and enhance performance.
  • Manage relationships, including database Vendors
  • Facilitate trainings and written instructions for new and current staff members to ensure team members comply with process improvements
  • Oversees database and team disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Directly supervise the activities of Database Administrators.
  • Assists in troubleshooting efforts and coaches team members on troubleshooting strategies
  • Promotes innovative approaches to solving problem with a focus on automation
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in database administration
  • Technical experience in Oracle or SQL
  • Leadership experience managing an IT technical team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with DB2, Mongo, IMS, IIAS
  • Possess analytical skill set to analyze multiple data sources pertaining to quality of service and process efficiency, to feed continuous improvement
  • Experience in leading projects to successful completion as defined by predetermined project success criteria including those established by the business, capital expenditure and budget requirements.
  • Partners with Development and Business Teams to assess how technologies can best streamline processes and/or add business value.
