Health & Safety Specialist (Systems)

Ergon has an opening at Mirror Lake for a Health & Safety Specialist (Systems) that is responsible for the development of existing systems that support the metrics and analytics that drive the company's Health & Safety (HS) initiatives. The position will be the primary person in charge of developing metric reporting for leading and lagging indicators and providing reporting of justification of decisions. Additionally, the role will support assigned facilities in general health and safety compliance and promotion of safe work culture.

Health & Safety Specialist (Systems) Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Health & Safety or technical field
• Preferred certification as a Safety Professional (ASP/CSP)
• Three (3) years or more of experience in the field of Safety and Health
• OSHA 511 or 501 certification preferred
• Experience with incident reporting systems
• Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal and writing communication skills

Health & Safety Specialist (Systems) Responsibilities:

• Administer the HS information systems including incident management, action items, near miss reporting, audit findings, etc.
• Manage the development of new system capabilities to support HS initiatives and business unit needs with IT support
• Develop system reports and dashboards to help analyze and communicate KPIs and other important metrics
• Assist in facility compliance of OSHA and company standards
• Support, implement, and perform leading indicator activities (e.g. audits, observations, inspections)
• Promote Target Zero Initiatives such as Stop Work Authority, Hazard Recognition, Employee Engagement
• Ensure consistent reporting of metrics both internally and externally (regulatory)
• Communicate learnings from incidents, near misses, and learning teams across assigned facilities
• Facilitate learning teams
• Conduct training on initiatives as required
• Other health and safety duties as required.
• Up to 35% travel required.
