Business Intelligence Analyst responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Build business intelligence reporting and data visualizations utilizing Power BI
Data mining including collecting, transforming, cleansing and analyzing data
Develop and automate reports, dashboard and other business performance tools
Analyze processes and data to provide business insights
Create hypotheses, collect data to either support or disprove the hypothesis and recommend solutions to help move a metric
Collaborate with and partner with business and technology colleagues to establish initiatives and requirements to support high value business solutions
Work closely with management and business unit stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise business plans and strategic initiatives
Provide insights and own the reporting, data validation, trending and presenting data in a format that allows the leadership team to make strategic decisions to move the organization forward
Build lasting solutions to surface critical data and business performance metrics
Align and partner with key business leaders to understand business objectives, Key Performance Indicators and measurements of success
Create scalable reporting solutions, data visualizations, or dashboards to track critical bustiness metrics and identify trends
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, Accounting or relevant field
2-4 years of experience with BI/Visualization and Analytic development
3-5 years’ experience utilizing Microsoft Power BI
Previous experience with Oracle Cloud, McLeod or other transportation management systems a plus
Working knowledge and deep understanding of Data Modeling; Relational Models, Tabular Models and Multi-Dimensional Models
Proven track record of defining and executing key analysis with minimal supervision
Ability to build robust relationships across all levels of the organization, including key stakeholders
Ability to effectively communicate complex issues with internal and external business partners at all levels of organization
Ability to understand, interpret and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word Excel, Power BI & Internet applications
Strong aptitude for process improvement
Must possess the ability to meet deadlines, work well under pressure, prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, and maintain discretion on confidential matters
Demonstrated success working with cross-functional business units across multi-locations
Ability to understand complex business requirements and translate into detailed technical specifications in which programs may be written in order to provide high quality reporting solutions that turn data into actionable intelligence
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on customer service
Strong organization, time management, analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
