Cedar Crest is a beautiful 130-acre continuing care retirement community nestled in the Ramapo Mountains in Pompton Plains, a neighborhood of Morris County, New Jersey.
We're part of a growing network of communities developed and managed by Erickson Senior Living, a national provider of senior living and health care with campuses in 11 states-and growing.
We are hiring a Driver to support our gated retirement community. The Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe travel of the residents, visitors, and employees of the facility.
The schedule for this position will be "as needed" for evening shifts 4-9pm.
How you will make an impact
- Transporting residents, staff, and visitors on scheduled, and unscheduled appointments
- Operating vehicles equipped with wheelchair ramps, and lifts
- Operating non-CDL passenger buses, vans, and sedans
- Helping to maintain the cleanliness of vehicles
- Preparing vehicles for usage, including performing pre & post-trip vehicle inspections, refueling, and other related tasks
- Logging and tracking vehicle usage.
- Assisting passengers with boarding and off-boarding from the vehicle
- Completing of incident reports regarding mechanical failure or accidents involving Company vehicles

What you will need
- High school diploma or GED required. Transportation services preferred
- Driver must be a minimum of 21 years of age to drive.
- Valid State driver's license. This license must be maintained as a condition of employment.
- Must possess or be able to obtain prior to starting, a current and valid D.O.T. Physical / Medical Examiner's Certificate indicating successful completion of a D.
O.T. Physical Examination. This certificate must be maintained as a condition of employment.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work with the older population
- Ability to operate Community vehicles safely; to include non-CDL passenger buses and sedans, demonstrated by successful completion of a road test
- Ability to operate vehicles equipped with wheelchair ramps and lifts, including securement systems
- Minimum of three 3 years of verifiable driving experience as noted through a driving record check.
Compensation : Commensurate with experience starting at $18.31 / hour
