POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fussy Baby Network Bilingual Lead FAN Trainer will work as part of the Erikson FAN Team to provide FAN training, FAN Train-the-Trainer, Community of Practice, Spanish FAN Work Group, and leads the Mentoring Program. The Fussy Baby Network Bilingual Lead FAN Trainer is supervised by the Director of Training.
- This is a 20-30 hour per week grant and contract funded position and is dependent on external funding.
- This job may be performed fully remote - no in-office or onsite work required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
FAN Train-the-Trainer Program: The Lead Trainer prepares new trainers through the Train-the-Trainer process which includes guidance and instruction in the preparation phase for Level I training, coaching to the trainer candidates during Level I delivery of training, and monthly mentoring during Level II process. In this role, Lead trainer determines if candidates have met the criteria and certifies FAN Trainers. This process is conducted in both English and Spanish.
- FAN Training: The Lead Trainer provides various levels of FAN Training including, but not limited to, Awareness Training (shorter than 7 hours), Introductory Training (7 hours), Level I Training (2 days), Level II Mentoring (monthly, reflective/administrative contact with program supervisors), and Booster Training (Advanced FAN concepts). These are provided on-site based on safety protocols and remotely.
- Mentoring Program: The Lead Trainer is in charge of the Mentor Training program and prepares other trainers and training centers in the Mentoring protocol. The Lead Trainer will organize a Spanish-language Mentoring Program.
- Spanish FAN Working Group: The Lead Trainer develops and leads activities to coordinate and enhance the Spanish FAN Working Group consisting of Spanish-speaking FAN Trainers and FAN users nationally and internationally. This role will also ensure the Spanish FAN curriculum and trainers maintain fidelity while also implementing cultural and linguistic adaptations. Management of translation and interpretation of FAN content will be expected in the role.
- Community of Practice: The Lead Trainer maintains a library of COP activities developed by Erikson FAN team and Network sites and shares these with other sites. The Lead Trainer identifies special topics for COP, develops new COPs and provides training in implementing COPS developed by Erikson. The Lead Trainer will develop and maintaining a library of Spanish-language COP activities, and will support Spanish-speaking trainers to offer COPs.
- Curriculum Development and Refinement: The Lead Trainer collaborates with the Curriculum Development Team to develop, review and improve training processes and protocols, curriculum materials, and training strategies. The Lead Trainer is in charge of Spanish-language curriculum development and refinement.
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: The Lead Trainer embraces and operationalizes the program’s commitment to DEI in all aspects of trainer preparation, training development, and implementation.
- Other duties as collaboratively assigned. The Lead Trainer takes on other projects and duties as assigned that are appropriate to the role and advance the quality or reach of FAN Training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree preferred; background in psychology, social work, early childhood education, child development, or related field.
- Knowledge of infant mental health, reflective and trauma-informed practice.
- Understanding of adult development and learning.
- Has had FAN training and implements model with high fidelity.
- 3-5 years home visiting or other experience working with infants, young children, and families.
- Prior successful experience teaching/training/professional development.
- Prior experience working with culturally, linguistically, ethnically, socioeconomically and/or developmentally diverse individuals.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Must be fluent in both Spanish and English. Must be able to drive own car or rent a car for site trainings; some site trainings may require overnights and air travel due to distance. Overnight travel is expected.
