Escape Room Moderator/Operator

Escape Game SD is San Diego's premier escape room, and we are looking for new team members to help us run our games! This is a great opportunity for students looking to get work and customer service experience.

If you're unfamiliar with escape rooms, it's an experience that's been wildly popular in most major cities all over the US where people get locked in a room filled with clues and puzzles and try to escape it under an hour. Our customers widely vary from groups of friends and families to tourists and groups that come for team building.

Primary Responsibilities:
- You will be in charge of the intake and the debrief process, before and after the game, respectively. This includes checking groups in, introducing the game, explaining the rules and how the room works, and asking a series of questions at the end.
- While the customers are in the rooms, you will operate and moderate the game through cameras and intercoms for providing hints and guidance.
- The puzzles are required to be reset after each game, which takes about 15 minutes to do and it demands attention to detail and accuracy.
- You will be asked to promote on social media and sell t-shirts and mugs to the customers at the end.

Required Skills:
- Strong communication and people skills are a must. You must be comfortable commanding the attention of groups of 2 - 12 people and getting them excited. We pride ourselves in providing a great interaction with our customers.
- You must be responsible and timely. Our games are back to back with little time for delay in the schedule, so it is imperative we stay on time. Tardiness will not be tolerated.
- Attention to detail is imperative for resetting the puzzle rooms. There are many little details, and you must be able to follow a checklist and ensure the puzzles are reset correctly for each group.

Our current hours are listed below. We are looking to hire people who have flexible hours and a lot of availability. As of now we are primarily looking for people who can work both weekends, and parts of the week. We have availability for part-time and full-time employees!

Thu - 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Fri - 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Sat - 11:00 AM - 12:00 AM
Sun - 1:00 PM - 12:00 AM
