About Esmé: Esmé Miami Beach is a new boutique hotel by Infinity Hospitality, a subsidiary of the New York-based Infinity Collective. The property located along Miami Beach's historic pedestrian corridor, Española Way, originally built as a 1920's artist village. The Spanish-Mediterranean revival property comprises eight buildings featuring 145 hotel rooms, four suites, and five original food & beverage concepts. Nestled alongside a collection of the street's time-honored cafés, Esmé will bring a new style of chic escapism to Miami Beach by raising the standard and not following it.


About the Bellman/Bell woman role: A Bell person is a very important position in our hotel. We are seeking candidates that have personality, energy, warmth and overall vibe that can make our guests feel not only welcome, but also excited they’ve arrived at the special place that is our hotel, Esmé.

We do not want a robotic and formulaic experience for our guests, but rather an engaging and professional interaction as the bell person is often the first and last on-property interaction that guests have with our team.


The Bellman/Bell woman is responsible for first-and-foremost welcoming our guests at our entrance, providing them with general information and bell services, opening doors, providing valet tickets for guests' vehicles, helping with luggage, familiarizing guests with their room amenities and features, and assisting with package deliveries.


A warm and welcoming presence, focusing on personalized and attentive service from the person in this position is essential. In addition, candidates must possess excellent communication skills, a solid knowledge of Miami and Miami Beach, and a thorough understanding of Esmé policies, procedures, and expectations.


This is a position that typically receives tips from guests in appreciation of warm, personable and informative service. If you are great with people, physically able, energetic, fun, quirky, vibey, creative, original, and want to work with a great team, this role could be for you.


JOB DESCRIPTION

Principle Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Greeting every guest with a smile, maintaining eye contact, and escorting them to their room
  • Establishing and maintaining good communication and teamwork with colleagues and other departments
  • Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, and adhering to the proper dress code when working.
  • Handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible, resolving customer complaints, assisting guests in all inquiries connected with hotel services and amenities, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, directions, etc.
  • Opening vehicle doors and property doors for guests and employees
  • Assisting with orchestrating valet services to hotel guests that need it
  • Greeting all guests passing through the lobby and offer them assistance.
  • Escorting guests to their room when needed and providing an adequate room orientation, providing genuine interest and anticipatory service towards guest during transit.
  • Handling and tagging guest luggage, delivering luggage to rooms upon check-in, picking up luggage from room upon departure, and moving the luggage to storage or the front drive as needed.
  • Coordinating relocation of guests when necessary
  • Purchasing, delivering, or picking up items and packages when needed and maintaining proper records of these.
  • Creating a friendly, comfortable, and helpful atmosphere for guests that demonstrate the highest standards of hospitality.
  • Understanding all fire/safety procedures, including OSHA requirements, and providing necessary assistance to guests and employees in the event of an emergency
  • Participating in scheduled departmental meetings and all other relevant meetings as requested
  • Adhering to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, and verbal instructions

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills, and abilities and demonstrate and provide relevant examples to support their competencies.

  • High-School Diploma or GED required
  • Six (6) months hotel or related experience preferred but not required
  • Must be able to communicate professionally in English, both written and verbal. Conversational abilities in other languages helpful, preferably Spanish.
  • Must be able to multi-task and display the ability to recognize that the guests' interests and needs are always primary. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. regularly. Must be able to access all areas of the property across varied terrain and footing.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of job-related processes and systems.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Able to handle a large volume of guest interactions in an efficient and courteous manner
  • Must be able to multi-task and display the ability to recognize that the guests' interests and needs are always priority.
  • Must possess a professional presentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, always remaining calm and courteous.
