POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Manager will manage sales activities and ensure business is turned over while maintaining elevated customer service that is aligned with the culture and brand standards established by the hotel. The individual will work closely with the acting Director of Sales & Marketing, hotel leadership team, General Manager, and other disciplines to ensure that an elevated experience is delivered to all guests of the hotel.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales Manager is responsible for negotiating contracts and ensuring that all aspects of the sales transaction are completed efficiently and in a timely fashion, with the best interests of the hotel and maximizing revenue prevailing at all times.
The Esmé Sales Manager is a seasoned hotel professional with outstanding skills in managing a diverse market and exceptional experience in guest relations. Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights when required and appropriate.
SALES MANAGER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Generate requests for proposals and manage efforts to secure business
• Achieve revenue target and market share set forth by the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Revenue Management
• Achieve weekly activity goals including prospecting, sites, and entertaining outside sales calls.
• Maintain flexibility to travel up to 20% of the year to visit trade shows and complete out of area sales calls.
• Conduct accurate and timely reporting according to weekly, monthly and annual deadlines.
• Drive guest retention efforts wherever possible.
• Maintain communication with all departments to the highest level of service is delivered at all times.
• Ensure that all guest requests and inquiries are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
• Participate as a team player with Department Heads and Management.
• Participate in recovery efforts as necessary, ensuring best possible resolution for the guest while protecting the hotel, and Company’s integrity and best interests in mind at all times.
• Support, comply and promote property initiatives, policies and guidelines.
• Utilize and collaborate with resources across different departments capable of influencing peer group to perform to their highest standard and establishing a trusting environment to enrich the culture.
• Focus on the mission and well-being of the hotel and company.
• Lead by example and operate with integrity and respect.
• Additional duties as necessary and assigned.

A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support their competencies therein.
• Knowledge of Hospitality Systems.
• 5 plus years of previous hotel sales experience preferred.
• A successful sales track record across sales segments.
• Availability and willingness for travel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to obtain and sustain productive guest/client/agent relationships.
• Understanding of guest needs and ability to address and deliver service accordingly.
• Understands implications of decisions.
• Displays orientation to profitability and aligns work with strategic goals.
• Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to deliver presentations in a concise, well-organized manner.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
