POSITION TITLE: Painting Estimator
PAY STATUS: Non-exempt
SUPERVISES: N/A
PAY RANGE: $50,000- $115,000
General Responsibility:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painting Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial painting and flooring systems, coupled with exceptional analytical and communication skills. As a Painting Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase, working closely with clients, project managers, and subcontractors to produce accurate and competitive project bids.
Significant Duties:
Project Evaluation:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of project specifications, blueprints, and site conditions to understand the scope of work.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify project requirements and expectations.
Cost Estimation:
- Analyze project components and materials required for industrial painting and flooring systems.
- Utilize estimating software and industry knowledge to calculate accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Consider factors such as project complexity, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance in cost estimations.
Bid Preparation:
- Prepare detailed and comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring all aspects of the project are covered.
- Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes for materials and services.
- Present bids to management for review and approval.
Client Communication:
- Engage with clients during the bidding process to address inquiries, provide clarifications, and build positive relationships.
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and develop tailored proposals.
Risk Assessment:
- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- Stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new technologies to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of project estimates, correspondence, and relevant documentation.
- Generate reports summarizing project estimates, highlighting key factors influencing costs.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as an estimator in the industrial painting and flooring systems sector.
- Strong proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.
