The Fall internship has flexible start and end dates, but generally runs from September 1st until December 31st.
The deadline for applications is June 31st, 2022 after which we will begin conducting candidate interviews.
The industrial design internship position is a paid, 40 hour per week professional internship. While working at Essential, interns are expected to work as a full junior member of the design team, tasked with client projects, internal initiatives, and presentations for marketing and awards.
Interns will collaborate with other disciplines within the office: research, engineering, & digital experiences.
As interns are expected to be contributing members of the team, their technical and communication skills must be at a very high level. Extensive skills in the Adobe Suite, Solidworks, and Keyshot are required.
Additionally, candidates should be proficient in visual a representation of their ideas, physical prototype development, and 3D printing. Candidates should have a sophisticated sensitivity to form and CMF, as well as a willingness and ability to learn, self initiate and work hard.
We also look for people with interesting backgrounds and personalities that mesh well with the team. Currently, we can only accept applicants who have a valid student work visa or are US citizens.
