WSB is seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our HR team. This position is responsible for administering company payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with government regulations. In addition, due to WSB’s growth, the Payroll Analyst will be advising and supporting continuous improvement of WSB’s system and internal processes to ensure efficiency and scalability.

WSB seeks an experienced Payroll Analyst to join our Golden Valley or Burnsville office, with hybrid schedule available after training is complete!
What You Will Do: As a Payroll Analyst, you will:
- Prepare, process, and audit biweekly and out-of-cycle payroll runs for 700 hourly and salaried staff
- Serve as the primary liaison with WSB staff for all payroll issues including timesheets, garnishments, and levies
- Process new hires, staff changes, and terminations in ADP and other systems
- Track, process, audit, and report on state and federal prevailing wage projects
- Drive process improvements, implement system integrations, and conduct new system reviews
- Run scheduled and ad hoc reporting for monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and HR processes
- Build strong relationships with the HR team and assist on HR projects as needed
- Assist with and lead portions of the pre-onboarding and onboarding processes
- Administer leaves of absence and furloughs related to payroll
- Serve as occasional backup support with WSB staff for benefit questions
- Periodically audit staff data in ADP to ensure accurate records
- Serve as liaison with the Accounting Department to ensure hours paid can be invoiced to clients
- Work with internal staff and external vendors to identify, recommend, and implement payroll and benefit process improvements and automations
What You Will Bring:
- The successful candidate will have six or more years of payroll experience for a multi-state employer
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function; including preparation, balancing, internal control and payroll taxes
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Our preferred candidate will have a degree in Accounting, Human Resources or related field.
- Experience in a professional services organization or in the AEC industry preferred
- Prefer experience as a one-person payroll team
