We are seeking an IT Project Manager to work on our W2 for a hybrid assignment (must be on-site once or twice/month) with our Huntsville, Texas-based client.
Responsibilities include:
1. Responsible for product oversight, planning, tracking, scope management, change control management, risk management, and quality assurance of the development project team; Includes oversight of a system or application throughout the Product Lifecycle including management of overall vision, tracking backlogs and user needs, and prioritization of key features.
2. Assist in the development and support of the vision and business objectives of the organization.
3. Direct the activities of resources in line with the business objectives of the organization; Including release planning and product roadmaps aligned with relevant project schedules and business needs.
4. Ensure quality and timely delivery of critical path products and services.
5. Establish and maintain quality metrics and guidelines.
6. Oversee product creation through design and development to ensure alignment of delivered features.
7. Collaborate with system users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements.
8. Develop and/or maintain the product roadmap, and manage the product backlogs.
Skills required:
1. Able to develop and maintain long-term relationships with strategic Customer and industry leaders.
2. Adept at the development of schedule, cost, and risk management strategies.
3. Experienced developing and implementing products within various Customer organizations and environments; and in complex technical environments.
4. Adept in software development methodologies, software quality methods, and software deployment methods in various software environments (as specified: Cloud, On-Prem, etc.) and versed in software development lifecycle processes.
5. Outstanding communicator, able to translate requirements into actionable plans that produce relevant product capabilities/features.
Requirements:
· Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Information Technology
· Excellent communicator, able to translate needs, demands, and requirements into easily understandable thoughts and ideas.
· State agency or governmental IT Project Management experience.
· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
· Bachelor’s Degree and at least eight (8) years of experience in implementing and/or managing projects, OR an advanced degree with at least six (6) years of experience combined with experience specifically in implementing projects in the IT industry.
Preferred Skills
· Knowledge of project management theories and practices applicable to projects that are highly complex in scope.
· Background in systems and procedures used to evaluate a third-party vendor’s performance.
· Skill in project management monitoring, addressing changes in scope and budget.
· Ability to manage project activities.
· Establish project goals and objectives.
· Analyze complex information and develop plans to address identified issues.
· Identify project risks and gaps.
· Manage multiple work streams; to communicate effectively.
· Direct, assign and evaluate the work of project staff.
