Position Summary
The Global Unified Communications architect role, is responsible for the architecutureal, engineering, and design support for a large scale, enterprise unified communications and collaboration environment. This includes implementation, administration and escalation support for ELC’s core UC and voice related systems, and defining the right solutions for the enterprise.
The successful candidate will be a key team player, considered an expert for all technical aspects of managing and supporting the global unified communications voice environments. This candidate should be comfortable in providing tailored technical solutions to address business needs and issues; researching and helping to develop and deploy new solutions, along with setting the right priorities and objectives to help drive and maintain the future Unified Communications strategy and roadmap.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Technical lead with global responsibilities for supporting and maintaining a 38k Unified Communications end-point environment
- Provide technical direction, standards, and best practices
- Ensure all deployed systems and technologies are delivered in a way that ensures the best end user working experience
- Implement flexible and secured UC solutions that ensure consistency and standardization across the enterprise
- Ensure operational best practices are met and identify areas for improvement to continually improve employee experience and service quality
- Helps to develop the technical and user requirements, training, adoptions, roadmaps, and configurations
- Researches, understands, tests and integrates new systems and technologies including formalized proof of concept evaluations
- Collaborates with business stakeholders and IT management on an ongoing basis to collect feedback to improve the overall user experience and sastisfcation
- Vendor management and coordination including assisting with contract/SOW negotiations and renewals
- Provide oversight for technology adoption and training for refreshes and deployments

Functional Skills
- Broad understanding of unified communications and voice related technologies
- Extensive experience as an Voice/UC administrator, a leader in defining and helping to implement and support enterprise class technical solutions
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge supporting contact center environments
- Familiar with IT and industry best practices, IT standards, ITIL and in creating technology roadmaps
