Job Summary: Responsible for serving members and guests with food and beverages.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Serves members their food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner.
· Provides information to help members with food and beverage selections.
· Presents ordered choices in a prompt and efficient manner.
· Maintains dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude.
· Prepares dining room by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, plates, and utensils; always paying close attention to detail.
· Protects establishment and members by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcoholic beverage policies.
· Assists members to select food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining chef's menu, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions.
· Transmits orders to the Bar and Kitchen by recording/inputting members orders and special requests properly.
· Serves orders by delivering members their choices from Bar and Kitchen.
· Responds to additional member requirements through member inquisitions and overall dining observations.
· Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to member spills or special needs.
· Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant and inviting members to return.
· Obtains revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, returning credit cards, and/or signature slips.
· As needed, answers phone calls for to-go orders, order information, and reservation notes.
· Runs food when needed.
· Assists with FOH/BOH needs when necessary.
· Other duties as assigned by Dining Room Manager, Assistant Director of Food & Beverage and/or Director of Food and Beverage.
Qualifications and Skills
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
· Ability to write simple correspondence.
· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
· Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
· Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
· Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Have knowledge of POS systems.
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
· The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and taste or smell.
· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions in the kitchen, outdoor patio weather conditions, and extreme cold temperatures in the freezer.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
