Summary:  This individual is responsible for the support of server infrastructure and desktops in an office environment. This also includes program documentation, systems operating instructions, application user guides and test plans in accordance with company standards and methodologies. They will work on various infrastructure projects and systems/network administration and will resolve network, server, and desktop issues.

 

Essential Duties:  Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.

 

  • Examines and evaluates current systems for performance issues and system health.
  • Involved with all aspects of users accounts (network, hardware, and software/applications) including installation, configuration, and management. 
  • Provides maintenance to user accounts by testing and evaluating to troubleshoot, repair, and resolve technical problems/issues.
  • Uses existing guidelines to assist end users with configuring, installing and maintaining stand-alone and networked multi-user computer operating systems.
  • Provides set up assistance and support for mobile and remote computing including personal mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.).
  • Works with and/or leads project teams of system users and vendors to understand and ensure the accuracy of the data and optimal application operation.
  • Coordinates and tracks efforts with vendors during system outages, malfunctions, updates and upgrades.  May assist as required.
  • Documents user support activities (incidents and requests).
  • Participates in business continuity/disaster recovery planning and actual execution of business continuity/disaster recovery events.
  • Provide onsite and on call 7x24x365 support, as needed.
  • Understands and monitors system/application performance to ensure performance metrics are met.
  • Analyzes business information and processes to identify efficiency opportunities and  implement solutions that address efficient and accurate use of resources
  • Stay current with changing technology, including companywide software and department programs.
  • Maintain an organized workspace and adhere to company safety policies.
  • Effectively plan work and organize “with end in mind” by developing a pathway through anticipating needs and priorities.
  • Develop a personal development plan for continuous improvement

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two (2) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
