Role: Equipment/ Print Operator
Location: Akron OH
Duration: 6 Months contract to hire.
Hours: First shift (8 hours), Monday-Friday, (Flexible start/end times between 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.). Occasional overtime as needed.
Description:
The position is responsible for efficient operation of various electronic duplication equipment, engraving equipment, wide format printers and assorted bindery equipment to produce copies, wide format engineering prints and engraved substation signs. The position is responsible for operating in a highly time sensitive production environment producing often highly sensitive internal presentations, training manuals, corporate forms, variable data communications, and other materials in accordance with FirstEnergy guidelines. The position is responsible for prioritizing workloads and resources to meet deadlines. Additional responsibilities include providing back-up for other positions (Forms / Graphics / Client Storeroom) advising internal Clients on job status, supply ordering ensuring materials and supplies are available, and that a quality product is completed in a timely manner.

Bindery Services
Assist with designing, procuring and distribution of all company forms (printed and electronic), envelopes, tags, labels, stationery, business cards, doorhangers, brochures, technical books, union contract books, large-format graphics, billing envelopes and other printed materials.
Assist with maintenance of Electronic Forms Database One, central repository for all business-related forms and other documents used throughout the entire Client system
Follow design and procurement standards and procedures to maintain the uniformity of all Client forms
Selects appropriate vendor by matching their abilities and capacities with the Client project to maximize cost efficiencies.
Establishes and maintains appropriate database of forms specifications, adhering to Client forms procedures
Ensures adequate stocking levels of all stocked items (over 300 items)
Assist with SAP functions such as purchase order maintenance, releases, and vendor payments
Assists with maintaining FORMLST database where all Client forms specifications and order history is contained.
o Provide Support to Client in creating, revising, managing 3,500 Client corporate forms
Assist with entering reorders of existing forms
Assist with design and manage forms (printed and electronic), specializing in designing Microsoft Word forms
Knowledge of Adobe InDesign software a plus but not required
Assist with daily processing of form requests
Qualifications
High school diploma required
Minimum 0-3 years experience required
Experience in a production printing environment preferred. Requires standing for long periods, plus some crouching, kneeling, stretching, and bending while operating equipment and performing routine maintenance
Frequent lifting and carrying of moderately heavy items such as paper stock and finished work. Required to lift up to 50 pounds, as needed.
Exposure to skin irritations from copier toner, and cuts and bruises to fingers
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Proficient with Adobe Acrobat Software
A demonstrated ability for discretion, diplomacy, and professionalism
Ability to manage multiple assignments with completing priorities and deadlines
Able to understand and willingness to embrace new technologies
Self-motivated to work independently and follow assignments through to completion
Good interpersonal skills and provide excellent customer service
