Job Description:
Be a part of building the best fighter combat training devices supporting the war fighter! This team is seeking an experienced Fighter Pilot or Weapon Systems Officer (WSO) to support requirements development, integration, and testing for aircrew training devices/simulators across several platforms to include F-15, F/A-18, EA-18G, MQ-25, T-7, and T-45 in Berkeley, MO. In order to be considered for this position, a candidate Subject Matter Expert (SME) must have experience as a Pilot or WSO in high-performance 4th and/or 5th Gen combat jet aircraft.
Researches, designs and develops flight simulator package requirements and provides engineering support for the delivery and lifecycle support of simulator packages. Defines product design requirements to meet approval standards and regulatory requirements. Executes verification and validation activities to ensure data quality and integrity. Researches and provides consultation to resolve flight simulator operations, service and regulatory qualification issues. Investigates new technologies for simulator hardware and software. Leads the research, design and development of flight simulator package requirements. Provides engineering support for the delivery and lifecycle support of simulator packages. Defines product design requirements to meet approval standards and regulatory requirements. Leads execution of advanced verification and validation activities to ensure data quality and integrity. Provides consultation to resolve flight simulator operations, service and regulatory qualification issues. Investigates new technologies for simulator hardware and software. Develops new and revised processes in support of customer requirements and changes in company guidelines.
Position Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work independently and will assist other members of the team in the performance of day-to-day operations in a fast-paced development environment.
- Team members create requirements and verification test procedures and execute testing to ensure the training devices correctly simulate the respective fighter/training aircraft, weapon systems, and the operational environment.
- Off shift and weekend work may be occasionally required to meet contractual milestones, objectives, and delivery schedules.
- Occasional domestic or international travel will be required.
- This is a mid-level to senior grade position.
- While waiting for security clearance, SME candidates will work with the Systems Engineering teams to familiarize with the training devices and processes, and in addition, they will instruct other engineers on how to decipher technical orders and aircrew academics.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Experience flying in 4th and/or 5th Generation fighter jet aircraft within the last 6 years.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and occasional weekends as necessary.
- Technical STEM bachelor’s degree or higher.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher.
- Experience in an aircraft test environment.
Typical Education/ Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD 4 years' related work experience, Master 7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
