Job Description

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be supporting applications for various Space Programs. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of Blue Origin’s requirements management using IBM’s Jazz CLM application suite and Jama Connect. As part of this role, will be responsible for providing a high level of technical support and vision for implementing and managing hardware, software, and network to support high performing database driven engineering applications. The role will support multiple deployments of web-based applications. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:

  • Administration of Jazz ELM Installations
  • Administration of Jama Connect Installations
  • System update and issue resolution
  • Using an assortment of tools and methods to analyze, monitor, and ensure computer system resources are used in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinating the prevention, identification, recovery, and resolution of production-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Database administration (Installation, configuration and management, patching and upgrade of the database environments)
    • Perform Database backup and recovery
    • Perform Database refresh
    • Database/SQL Monitoring and Performance Tuning

Qualifications:

  • AS degree in STEM, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience administrating electronic file interfaces with external systems and data vendors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience administering multi-platform servers and operating systems using infrastructure as code. (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience administering relational databases.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience administering communication protocols (such as HTTP)
  • Knowledge and application of Engineering Processes across the Product Life Cycle (e.g., proposal, design, qualification, requirements qualification/verification, production, field support, manufacturing, etc.)
  • 2 years hands on experience with tools administration, DevOps, and infrastructure support in AWS Cloud
  • 2 years of experience working with Developers, DevOps, and Engineering teams in a dynamic environment to promote/implement DevOps tools
  • Monitor production systems, applications and network performance through the use of various Network Management and Application Monitoring Tools
  • Develop tools/scripts to automate integration with other IT tools in support of accurate asset management, cyber reporting capabilities and to manage licenses
  • Working closely with other IT departments to help determine and develop systems that will be implemented

Desired:

  • Back-end or administrative experience with PLM applications such as Windchill, Teamcenter, and SAP
  • Previous Support roles providing user support to a geographically diverse userbase
  • Experience querying enterprise-size databases with languages such as SQL, SPARQL
  • Technical Writer experience
  • Familiarity with a scripting language (Javascript, Python)
  • Familiarity with Atlassian toolset, especially Confluence and JIRA
  • Helpdesk experience

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Estimated hourly wage (Colorado only): $94K-$158K
