Ethan Allen's Dublin Distribution location is searching for a Yard Jockey. This position is responsible for moving and arranging trailers/containers while facilitating the needs of the warehouse in sorting and processing equipment for loading/unloading.
Responsibilities:
- Operate yard truck in a safe manner during numerous daily roll-on/roll-off procedures involving loaded and empty trailers/containers.
- Responsible to maintain a neat and orderly lot, oriented towards maximizing efficiency in servicing Distribution Center needs.
- Drive and operate vehicle under 15 mph in and around the Distribution Center and storage lot/staging area.
- Security of valuable commodities and the storage area itself are a major area of concern, occasionally requiring guidance from supervisory personnel regarding disposition.
- When not driving, communicate using cell phone with Distribution Center personnel.
- Perform pre-shift checks of equipment.
- Report all damage to vehicles and trailers immediately to supervisory personnel.
- Performs a daily yard list of all trailers on premises.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and orderly environment of the facility following company guidelines and policies.
- Work, as needed, to assist in other areas of the warehouse.
- Must work overtime, as needed, for any unexpected deadlines.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years warehouse or manufacturing experience
- Minimum 1 year experience operating a yard truck
- Ability to lift 70 pounds
- Frequent bending, lifting, standing, reaching, and climbing
- Good listening skills with excellent oral and written communication skills
