What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Investigator position at Ethos Risk?
Position Overview:
We are looking for qualified candidates to join our growing team of professionals. We are Looking for P/T employees averaging approximately 16-24 hours a week. F/T employees averaging 40 hours a week. SIU Investigators who have the ability to work remotely, independently, and who enjoy a good challenge.
Applicants must have an extremely flexible work schedule. This is an industry wide requirement as cases often require odd hours, to include early mornings, weekdays, weekends, evening hours and occasional holidays. The ideal candidate must own a well-maintained vehicle, a window based laptop, cell phone, and have good internet connection.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Field Investigator collects recorded statements, accident scene investigations, online research and witness canvassing. This position also drafts reports, uploads documents, video, and audio files into the case management system from the information that was collected during the investigation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct scene investigations, interviews, recorded statements
- Drafts thorough, detailed investigative reports.
- Uploads reports to our claims system.
- Track time and expenses within Ethos claims system.
- Recognizes compensability issues, misrepresentation, and understanding insurance coverage as it pertains to claims decisions.
EDUCATION:
Associates or Bachelor's degree, preferably in criminal justice or a related field; or a combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: (Must meet at least one criteria)
- Previous SIU experience with an insurance carrier or investigative firm
- Former military or law enforcement
- Two years' experience in property loss investigations (or adjusting) to include theft, fire, water, wind and vandalism losses.
LICENCES/CERTIFICATIONS/INSURANCE
- Insurance adjuster's license or Private Investigator License, if required.
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
- May require Notary
SKILLS:
- Possess strong computer and internet skills.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
