Veterinary Hospital Manager (Specialty)

Title: Hospital Services Manager (HSM)
Position: Full-Time
Location: Ethos Vista Veterinary Hospital

As a Hospital Services Manager (HSM), you are an extension of the Hospital Director (HD). In this pivotal role, you are assigned to oversee and lead your assigned team to provide the best medical care for our patients. The expectation is to manage health financial margins, manage labor, maintain operational readiness, and ensure compliance and governance standards are always upheld.

The HSM is responsible for overseeing the general administrative functions and any events or activities in the office. The departments assigned to this individual are Neurology, Internal Medicine, and Surgery. The ideal candidate will have prior administrative and operational excellence experience working in supporting multiple levels of employees. He/she greets visitors and should present an accessible and approachable tone as well as have excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate has a healthy initiative and can anticipate needs.

Above all, we are not looking for someone with a veterinary background but, rather, someone with strong operational background who can is eager to expand their skillset and expertise through collaboration with other subject matter experts.

HSM Responsibilities:

• Act as liaison between the clinical team and upper leadership; be the voice of your team
• Manage and report labor and financial details on a weekly basis to HD
• Delegate tasks and maintain deadlines
• Responsible for placing job requisitions, finding candidates, and on-boarding new teammates
• Work in a fast-paced, cooperative environment with high volumes of patients/clients
• Achieve and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual operational and financial goals as set by HD
• Resolve client concerns and any other escalated matters
• Participate in enhancing the workplace culture
• Conduct weekly audits of your department to ensure OSHA compliance
• Assist HD as requested

HSM Requirements:

• (4 years) experience leading mid-scale teams [10 to 50 direct reports]
• (3 years) customer service experience
• Veterinary experience not required
• Ability to effectively communicate and motivate teammates
• Organizational and time management skills
• Maintain an optimistic, can-do attitude and lead by example
• Authorized to work in the United States (U.S.)

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday & weekends, as needed
• 75% on-site, 25% remote
• Flexible Hours
