Job Description
The Characterization Scientist will be responsible for the following:
- Sample preparation, distribution, and data collection for forced degradation studies
- Perform routine biochemical analyses for characterization of monoclonal antibodies in support of pharmaceutical development, which may include peptide mapping, oligosaccharide mapping, or other routine methods.
- Conduct analysis and reporting of data in accordance with requirements set forth by the department;
- Ensure maintenance of detailed documentation of assay development and qualification
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline with 0-2 years of experience in a related laboratory setting or a master’s degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with protein biochemistry and general protein biochemical techniques involving HPLC, UV/Vis spectrophotometry, mass spectrometry, etc. is helpful
- Strong organizational skills, and maintenance of a laboratory notebook in a regulated environment (GLP/GMP) is expected.
