Job Description
- Support client research objectives in the area of controlled release and delivery technologies in support of reduced harm product development.
- Generate extrusion samples for downstream analysis.
- Follow SOPs and carry out routine laboratory assays using GC, GC/MS, LC, LC/MS technology. Carry out routine laboratory assays: bulk density, pH, Karl Fisher, moisture, water activity, UV-Vis, and Viscosity.
- Work with client and team to support the development of new formulations, create formulation and product prototypes, develop new test methods, and test new matrices.
- Prepare samples for different projects.
- Ensure efficient operations of the laboratory by ensuring that supplies and consumables are ordered, stocked, and lab space maintained in accordance to 5S.
- Maintain strict record keeping by updating hard copy and electronic records.
- Ensure highest quality and integrity of data generated.
- Maintain the highest level of organization, accuracy, and detail
Qualifications
- Science Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline.
- 1 – 3 years of related experience
- Experience working in a chemistry laboratory setting
- Strong familiarity with scientific research principles, methods, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to follow SOPs and work on routine assignments.
- Ability to write new procedures.
- Ability to stand and work on the feet in a laboratory environment for extended periods of time
- Detailed-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills along with demonstrated ability to collaborate with others.
- Demonstrate strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaboration
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
