Job Description
- Provide technical support including: sample quality control; DNA and RNA extraction; library preparation for NextGeneration sequencing projects; maintaining logs and record books; troubleshooting and resolving problems and helping with special projects
- Perform nucleic acid extractions (DNA/RNA), including preparing samples, setting up molecular biology reactions, performing quality assurance procedures, collecting and reporting quality indicator data
- Prepare libraries for NexGeneration sequencing using different protocols (DNA, mRNA, total RNA etc.)
- Prepare and package samples for shipment to outside laboratories
- Develop and manage Sequencing Lab
- Plan and organize sequencing runs
- Sample preparation, library construction, sequencing of samples
- Maintenance and upkeep of Sequencer (MinIon, Sanger and NextGeneration)
- Develop and optimize protocols
- Communicate with vendors and internal colleagues on the milestones of the sequencing projects
- Document information by maintaining daily logs of sample statu
- Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data
- Utilize instrumentation including HPLC, LCMS, and MS
- Execute proteomic experiments
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a degree (BS/MS) in chemistry with hands on experience (2 yrs.) with analytical instrumentation such as LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS. Experience with proteomics specific workflow such as sample extraction, methodology validation and development and data generation is desirable. The candidate should be able to keep in touch with recent advances in the field and practice good GLP.

·Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
·Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point applications, preferred
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
·Bachelor's degree in biology, genetics, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)
·Experience with LCMS, HPLC, and MS
·Related experience working with nucleic acids
·Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
